Symmetry Lab Pro is here. It's the iPad version of Symmetry Lab, with an all new interface that takes full advantage of the high resolution screen. Enjoy!

I just bought this and it looks great but the performance is very slow on the iPad. I have to go very slowly to keep the drawings from looking like just a bunch of lines. Are there any plans to speed up the performance? :(
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI'm looking around for ways to improve performance but right now I'm held back by the processor power of the iPad. It's frustrating but I'm not sure there's a way around it.

I suppose you've thought about this, but would a better algorithm do the trick?
ReplyDeleteI have thought about that - I'm considering using tables of values for sine and cosine rather than the built-in functions. But the problem seems to be in the rendering time - each line you draw is actually very complex because of the particles and blending it uses.
